Whitstable 2nds 41 Tonbridge Juddians 4ths 10
The ‘Blues Twos’ completed their Late Red 4 League programme with this convincing win against a very committed Juddians team who fought well to the very end of the match.
In a very entertaining and open game, the visitors scored first but then found the superior teamwork of the Whitstable display a might too much to handle. The Blues’ mid-field players were the stars of a fine Whitstable effort, in which Grant Guy scored a hat-trick of tries and team mate, Sam Payne added another as well as converting every touchdown. Payne also added a couple of penalty goals and Ollie Janes then scored a fifth try for which Payne added the extras.
The Juddians scored two excellent tries of their own in reply, both the result of strong forward drives. However, the Whitstable victory and added bonus point was well-deserved and brought the team’s total season’s win count to eight from 18 matches played.
